We are proud to announce our 2020 Veterans Day fundraiser supporting the Central Texas-based nonprofit Service Dogs, Inc. Established in 1988, Service Dogs, Inc. trains assistance dogs, free of charge, to help Texans in need. One of the organization’s primary goals is to bring greater independence to wounded veterans through partnerships with service dogs who perform a variety of assistive behaviors for their mobility challenged partners.

Now through Veterans Day on Wednesday, Nov. 11, we are encouraging our family, friends, neighbors and business partners to make monetary donations to Service Dogs, Inc. and will match all donations up to $5,000. That means every dollar donated through our Service Dogs, Inc. fundraising page will be doubled.

In addition to being an incredible organization that supports wounded veterans and other Texans in need, Service Dogs, Inc. has personal ties to the DC Law family. Our founder and lead attorney, Dan Christensen, is a long-time supporter of the organization and currently volunteers on the Board of Directors. Additionally, Dan’s daughter CJ is a volunteer photographer for Service Dogs, Inc. who helps capture special moments between service dogs and their partners.

As a veteran himself, Dan is passionate about paying it forward to the servicemen and women who have fought for our country. Dan served in the U.S. Army for more than 10 years and received several honors and achievements during his service including a Distinguished Military Graduate Award, Airborne and Air Assault qualifications, and Expert Marksmanship designations. After graduating from law school, Dan also served in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps in Fort Hood, Texas where he tried more than 160 cases, ranging from minor offenses to kidnapping, rape, and capital murder.
